Is this a known issue or do I have a potentially faulty scanner or software installation? At the low res end, it scanned a 200ppi text page for. I noticed a few times there is a vertical green band of several fine lines in the scanned image. Canon’s CanoScan 9000F was always a reasonably quick scanner and the Mark II increases this, particularly for higher resolution scans.Do people find the sRDX dust & scratch removal useful and are there circumstances where it offers advantages compared to using the iSRD function?.What format are people using to scan and transfer images to Lightroom for further processing? Is it a significant advantage to use the TIFF format to process the image in Lightroom? I honestly find it very hard to tell the difference between the TIFF and JPG images even when magnified. 190MB whereas storing the same image in JPG format at 80% quality creates much smaller files c. The 48 bit bit TIFF format is recommended to preserve image detail.Has anyone noticed this issue and can you recommend the best settings for removing dust but avoiding other artefacts? I created my own settings profile with more modest settings which removes the obvious dust but doesn't create edge artefacts. I noticed that Silverfast (SF) tends to use use very aggressive settings in automatic mode which produces edge artefacts. I've been using the iSRD IR dust & removal function in automatic mode.
#Silverfast 8.8 review cannon how to#
I'm just learning how to get the best out of Silverfast and have the following queries: I'll be using Silverfast to scan 35mm film / transparencies at 5000 dpi (since the scanner is capable of 4100 dpi) for basic image adjustments & dust removal but using Lightroom for most processing. I've just bought a Reflecta Proscan 10T / PrimeFilm XE film scanner and Silverfast Ai Studio 8.8.
